Kasia Kucharska is a Berlin-based brand, founded in 2021.
The reinvention of traditional craft and technology-driven manufacturing techniques stands at the core of our design philosophy.
With a focus on new ways of making garments and special attention to sustainable and conscious manufacturing techniques, we are pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion design.
We print garments instead of sewing them, introducing an intelligent twist on what it means to be confident and sexy today. Our approach is not focused on silhouette making. Instead it is based on process ideas and on finding new technologies and techniques for traditional craft. We want it to be a suggestion to consider clothing as a medium not yet exhausted
We bring traditional lace making to the age of technology. Latex is an amazing material: It is a soft but durable, naturally occurring material and with the right additives it is fully biodegradable. With our unique printing technique and designs we aim to introduce Latex to a broader audience.
What sets us apart from other brands is how we work with latex. Going one step up in the production chain we work with the raw material, processing liquid latex ourselves, adding pigment for colour and then manufacture it through a self-developed printing technique into the final pattern pieces. This gives us full control over all aspects of production and full transparency in the supply chain. Our printing system also allows us to print latex pattern pieces for individually fitted garments without waste.
Sustainability plays a significant role in our business on different levels. We decided early on that we want to focus on manufacturing only one materialnatural rubber (latex) What sets us apart from other brands is how we work with the material:
We go one step up in the production chain and process raw, liquid latex and then manufacture it through a self developed printing technique. Our printing system allows us to print garments solely out of latex without generating waste material and thematerial is biodegradable. Only the required pieces are produced in minimal quantities in order to avoid overproduction.
We believe design has to function as a problem solver: As young designers we want to be active ambassadors of change, creating products that undergo sustainable manufacturing processes, while being desirable and simply better than their predecessors because only if people want to have.
